PDF datasheet mirror for AmberLite IRN9652 H (DuPont). Verify with OEM before design.

Summary

Product identification

  • Product Name: AmberLite™ IRN9652 H Ion Exchange Resin
  • Product Type: Nuclear-grade, Macroporous, Strong Acid Cation Exchange Resin
  • Previous Name: AmberLite™ IRN9652 Ion Exchange Resin

Applications

  • Primary water treatment (coolant purification, coolant blowdown treatment)
  • Fuel pool purification (single bed systems)
  • Rad waste treatment and decontamination (removal of radioactive cations like ¹³⁷Cs and cobalt isotopes, removal of silver)
  • PWR steam generation blowdown (APG)

Description

AmberLite™ IRN9652 H is a strong acid cation exchange resin with a macroporous structure designed for nuclear applications requiring high purity and stability. It is effective at removing cationic contaminants, including ¹³⁷Cs and sodium traces, and can operate in short beds at high velocities due to its fast kinetics. It is also suitable for layered beds.

Purity

Manufactured to nuclear-grade standards with specific procedures to minimize inorganic and organic impurities. Recommended for applications requiring high-quality water with minimal ionic and non-ionic contamination.

Hydraulic Characteristics

Estimated bed expansion and pressure drop are provided in Figure 1 and Figure 2, respectively. These figures are functions of backwash/service flowrate and temperature. The pressure drop expectations are valid at the start of a service run with clean water and a well-classified bed.

  • Figure 1 (Backwash Expansion) Temperature: 10 – 60°C (50 – 140°F)
  • Figure 2 (Pressure Drop) Temperature: 10 – 60°C (50 – 140°F)

Product Stewardship

DuPont is committed to product stewardship, assessing safety, health, and environmental information. Customers are encouraged to review their processes and applications to ensure safe and intended use.

Customer Notice: Oxidizing agents like nitric acid can attack ion exchange resins, potentially causing degradation or exothermic reactions. Consult knowledgeable sources before using such materials.
