Regenerant Information
| Regenerant | Concentration (100% basis) | Level (100% basis) |
|---|---|---|
| NaOH | 2% | 30 – 60 kg/m³ (1.9 – 3.8 lb/ft³) |
| HCl | 0.5 – 2% | 20 kg/m³ (1.3 lb/ft³) |
| H₂SO₄ | 0.5 – 2% | 26 kg/m³ (1.6 lb/ft³) |
Application Information
AmberLite™XAD™761 is effective for removing high molecular weight, water-soluble organic compounds with highly polar substituents. Adsorption generally increases with molecular weight. Acids are more effectively adsorbed than bases, and aromatic compounds more than aliphatic ones. Removal is most complete when acids and bases are least ionized. Non-polar compounds and neutral salts are typically unaffected.
Warning: Oxidizing agents such as nitric acid can attack organic ion exchange resins, potentially leading to degradation or violent reactions. Consult knowledgeable sources before using strong oxidizing agents.
