Summary
Product identification
AmberLite™ XAD™ 7HP Polymeric Adsorbent is a macroporous, non-ionic, aliphatic acrylic resin.
Description
This adsorbent is supplied as white insoluble beads. Its macroporous structure, high surface area, and aliphatic nature provide its adsorptive properties. It can adsorb non-polar compounds from aqueous systems and polar compounds from non-polar solvents. The resin exhibits excellent physical resistance and thermal stability.

Hydraulic Characteristics
Estimated bed expansion as a function of backwash flowrate and temperature (10 – 50°C) is shown in Figure 1 of the original document. Estimated pressure drop as a function of service flowrate and water temperature (5 – 65°C) is shown in Figure 2 of the original document. These pressure drop expectations are valid at the start of the service run with clean feed and a well-classified bed.
Product Stewardship
DuPont has a concern for the safety, health, and environmental information on its products. Users are encouraged to review their manufacturing processes and applications of DuPont products to ensure they are not used in ways for which they are not intended or tested. Safety data sheets should be consulted prior to use.
WARNING: Oxidizing agents such as nitric acid can attack organic ion exchange resins, potentially leading to degradation or violent exothermic reactions. Consult knowledgeable sources before using strong oxidizing agents.
