Summary

Product identification

  • Product Name: AMBERLITE™ FPA555 Cl Ion Exchange Resin
  • Product Type: Strongly Basic Anion Exchange Resin
  • Manufacturer: DuPont
  • Form Number: 45-D00860-en, Rev. 0
  • Revision Date: September 2019

Description

AMBERLITE™ FPA555 Cl Ion Exchange Resin is a macroporous strongly basic anion exchange resin containing quaternary ammonium groups. It is specifically designed for the selective removal of nitrate from potable waters and can be used in various types of units. This resin exhibits preferential removal of nitrate over sulfate.

Application Information

AMBERLITE™ FPA555 Cl Ion Exchange Resin is particularly recommended for waters with higher sulfate concentrations than nitrate. In such cases, its operating capacity is superior to that of conventional resins due to the following relative affinities for anions:

NO₃⁻ > SO₄²⁻ > Cl⁻ > HCO₃⁻

A key characteristic is that the nitrate level in the effluent after breakthrough will not exceed the nitrate level in the influent.
