Summary
Product identification
- Product Name: DuPont™ AmberTec™ MR-3 LC H/OH Ion Exchange Resin
- Product Type: Non-regenerable Mixed Bed Ion Exchange Resin
- Applications: Demineralization and Final Polishing for Ultra Pure Water Applications
- Historical Reference: Previously sold as DOWEX™ MR-3 LC NG ion exchange resin. Recommended replacement for DOWEX MONOSPHERE™ MR-575 LC NG ion exchange resin.
Description
AmberTec™ MR-3 LC H/OH is a high purity grade mixed resin recommended for polishing mixed beds to complement reverse osmosis systems, working mixed resin beds, or EDI systems. When used in properly designed ultrapure water systems, it can deliver 18-MΩ⋅cm quality water. This product is particularly suitable for polishing high-purity water in the solar photovoltaic panel industry and similar sectors. The cation and anion resins are mixed to a stoichiometric equivalent on a 1:1 basis and exhibit no clumping.

Suggested Operating Conditions
-
Maximum Operating Temperature: 60°C (140°F)
-
pH Range (Stable): 0 – 14
-
Operating mixed beds at elevated temperatures (above 60–70°C or 140–158°F) may impact loop purity and resin life. Contact a technical representative for details.
-
Refer to Tech Facts for information on recommended minimum bed depth, operating, and regeneration conditions for mixed or separate beds.
Hydraulic Characteristics
Estimated pressure drop as a function of service flowrate at 20°C (68°F) is shown in Figure 1 of the datasheet. These values are valid at the start of the service run with clean water. Estimated pressure drop at other temperatures can be calculated using the provided equations: Pₜ = P₂₀°C / (0.026T°C + 0.48) (where P ≡ bar/m) Pₜ = P₆₈°F / (0.014T°F + 0.05) (where P ≡ psi/ft)
