Summary

Product identification

  • Product Name: AmberTec™ UP6150 H/OH Ion Exchange Resin
  • Type: Separable, Uniform Particle Size, Mixed Bed Ion Exchange Resin
  • Previous Name: AMBERJET™ UP6150 Ion Exchange Resin

Description

AmberTec™ UP6150 H/OH is a fully-regenerated mixed bed of cation and anion exchange resins designed for high-purity water systems post-reverse osmosis. It is intended for polishing applications in the semiconductor industry, capable of achieving 18-MΩ·cm water quality with total organic carbon (TOC) levels below 5 ppb in its first operating cycle. This product is suitable for manufacturing processes involving disk drives, display devices, CD-ROMs, discrete semiconductor devices, lower-density IC chips, and backend chip dicing and mounting. It is also suitable for general-purpose mixed bed applications requiring high-purity water.

The resin is composed of uniform particle size components, mixed in a stoichiometric 1:1 equivalent ratio of cation to anion exchange capacity. The uniform particle size is selected for optimal kinetic performance, minimal rinsing, and the potential for separation and regeneration in cascaded systems. The mixture exhibits no clumping.

Hydraulic Characteristics

Pressure drop expectations for AmberTec™ UP6150 H/OH are shown in Figure 1 of the datasheet, varying with service flowrate and temperature. These estimates are valid at the start of a service run with clean water.

  • Temperature Range (for Figure 1): 10 – 60°C (50 – 140°F)

Quality Assurance

AmberTec™ UP6150 H/OH is tested by DuPont for resistivity, TOC, and kinetic performance to ensure compliance with stringent ultrapure water (UPW) requirements. Rinse performance data for resistivity and TOC are shown in Figure 2 of the datasheet.
