Summary
Product identification
- Product Name: AmberTec™ UP6150 H/OH Ion Exchange Resin
- Product Type: Separable, Uniform Particle Size, Mixed Bed Ion Exchange Resin
- Previous Product Name: AMBERJET™ UP6150 Ion Exchange Resin
Description
AmberTec™ UP6150 H/OH is a fully-regenerated mixed bed of cation and anion exchange resins designed for high-purity water systems, particularly as a polishing step after reverse osmosis. It is intended for use in ultrapure water (UPW) systems and is claimed to deliver 18-MΩ·cm quality water with total organic carbon (TOC) levels below 5 ppb in its first operating cycle when used as a polishing mixed bed.
This resin mixture is suitable for:
- Polishing high-purity water for specialty electronics applications (e.g., disk drives, display devices, CD-ROMs, discrete semiconductor devices, lower-density IC chips, backend chip dicing and mounting).
- General-purpose mixed bed applications for economical production of high-purity water.
The product consists of uniform particle size resins that offer excellent first-cycle performance and allow for subsequent separation and regeneration. The cation and anion exchange capacities are mixed on a 1:1 equivalent basis, and the mixture exhibits no clumping. The uniform particle size maximizes kinetic performance during the service cycle while permitting later separation and regeneration.

Hydraulic Characteristics
Estimated pressure drop is dependent on service flowrate and temperature, valid at the start of the service run with clean water. Refer to Figure 1 in the original document for details.
Quality Assurance
AmberTec™ UP6150 H/OH is tested for resistivity, total organic carbon (TOC), and kinetic performance to ensure stringent UPW performance requirements are met. Typical rinse curves for resistivity and TOC are shown in Figure 2 of the original document.
