Lewatit® K 1221 is a strongly acidic, gel-type, polymer-based ion exchange resin in spherical bead form with a very narrow bead size distribution. It is designed for processing liquid organic media.

Additional Information & Regulations

Safety precautions: Strong oxidants, e.g. nitric acid, can cause violent reactions if they come into contact with ion exchange resins. The safety data sheet must be observed.

Disposal: In the European Community, ion exchange resins have to be disposed of according to the European waste nomenclature.

Storage: It is recommended to store ion exchange resins at temperatures above the freezing point of water, under roof, in dry conditions, and without exposure to direct sunlight. If resin becomes frozen, it should not be mechanically handled and must be left to thaw out gradually at ambient temperature before handling or use.

Packaging: Packaging stability for reliable resin containment is limited to 24 months under the recommended storage conditions. It is advised to use the product within this timeframe, or otherwise check the packaging condition regularly.
