Summary
Product identification
Lewatit® MonoPlus S 108 H is a strongly acidic, gelular cation exchange resin with beads of uniform size (monodisperse) based on a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer, in fully regenerated form.
Key Features and Applications
This resin is designed for high performance in demineralization processes, offering:
- Extreme resistance to chemical, osmotic, and mechanical stress.
- Very low leachables even under critical conditions (high temperatures, oxidants, external regeneration).
- Long life cycles due to its special ion exchange resin matrix, even with short cycle times.
- High total capacity resulting in high operating capacities with low ionic leakage and high regenerant utilization.
- Low pressure losses and efficient, cost-optimized operation due to high monodispersity and low fines content.
It is especially suitable for:
- Demineralization of water for industrial steam generation using co-current or modern counter-current systems (e.g., Lewatit WS System, Lewatit Liftbed System, Lewatit Rinsebed System).
- Polishing applications using the Lewatit Multistep System or conventional mixed beds in combination with specific anion resins (Lewatit® MonoPlus M 500 MB, Lewatit® MonoPlus M 800, Lewatit® MonoPlus M 600, Lewatit® MonoPlus MP 500, Lewatit® MonoPlus MP 800, Lewatit® MonoPlus MP 600).
Additional features include:
- High flow rates during regeneration and loading.
- High operating capacity at low regenerant consumption.
- Low demand for rinse water.
- Homogeneous throughput, resulting in a homogeneous operating zone.
- Virtually linear pressure drop gradient, allowing for higher bed depths.
- Low TOC emission and high resistance to oxidative stress.
- Good separation of components in mixed bed applications.

Additional Information & Regulations
- Safety precautions: Strong oxidants, e.g., nitric acid, can cause violent reactions if they come into contact with ion exchange resins.
- Toxicity: The safety data sheet must be observed.
- Disposal: Ion exchange resins must be disposed of according to the European waste nomenclature.
- Storage: Store in dry conditions, protected from direct sunlight, above the freezing point of water. If frozen, allow to thaw gradually at ambient temperature before handling or use.
- Packaging: Packaging stability is limited to 24 months under recommended storage conditions.
