Summary
Product identification
Lewatit® MonoPlus SM 1000 KR-7Li is a ready-to-use mixed bed resin. It comprises a strongly acidic gel-type cation exchange resin in the ⁷Li⁺ form and a strongly basic (type I) gel-type anion exchange resin in fully regenerated form. It is a cation to anion exchanger 1:2 mixture, premium grade, and purified to meet nuclear industry specifications. Other mix ratios are available on request. Lewatit® nuclear resins (Lewatit® KR) are noted for their outstanding mechanical and chemical stability, as well as high osmotic stability. They offer excellent hydrodynamic properties allowing particularly high flow rates and result in particularly low pressure losses due to extremely high monodispersity and very low fines content.
Applications
Lewatit® MonoPlus SM 1000 KR-7Li is particularly suitable for:
- Polishing in primary sections as a mixed bed component.
- Decontamination of circuits in nuclear reactor plants.
- Treatment of primary coolant, e.g., in pressure water reactors.
- Removal of activated cleavage or corrosion products, including mechanical filtration of suspended impurities.

Additional Information & Regulations
Safety Precautions
Strong oxidants, e.g., nitric acid, can cause violent reactions if they come into contact with ion exchange resins. The safety data sheet must be observed.
Storage
Ion exchange resins should be stored above the freezing point of water, under roof, in dry conditions without direct sunlight. If resin freezes, it should thaw gradually at ambient temperature before handling or use.
Packaging
Packaging stability is limited to 24 months under recommended storage conditions. It is advised to use the product within this timeframe or ensure the packaging condition is checked regularly.
