Summary
Product identification
Lewatit® S 5128 is a food grade, gelular, strongly basic anion exchange resin (type I) based on an acrylic-divinylbenzene copolymer of a special bead size distribution. It is suitable for the treatment and demineralization of process water used in the food industry and for the removal of organic matter (NOM), especially from surface water.
Operating limits
- Stability pH range: 0-14
- Operating temperature: max. 30 °C
- Operating pH range during exhaustion: 0-12
- Storage temperature range: -20 - +40 °C
- Storage time (after delivery): max. 2 years
Feed water
- Effective adsorption and desorption of naturally occurring organic substances due to its acrylic structure.
- Suitable for removal of organic matters (NOM), especially from surface water.
Product water
- Low silica leakage is required for demineralization applications.

Additional Information & Regulations
- Safety precautions: Strong oxidants (e.g., nitric acid) can cause violent reactions with ion exchange resins. Observe the safety data sheet.
- Disposal: Dispose according to European waste nomenclature in the European Community.
- Storage: Store above freezing point of water, in dry conditions, under roof, away from direct sunlight. If frozen, allow to thaw gradually at ambient temperature before handling or use. Do not accelerate thawing.
- Packaging: Packaging stability is limited to 24 months under recommended storage conditions. Use within this timeframe or check packaging condition regularly.
