Product Identification
Lewatit® S 8229 Plus Ag is a food-grade, weakly acidic, macroporous cation exchange resin. It is based on crosslinked polyacrylate and is bead-shaped with a special bead size distribution. The resin is silver impregnated for bacteriostatic properties.
Applications
Lewatit® S 8229 Plus Ag is suitable for:
- Decarbonisation and softening of drinking water in household filter systems.

Feed Water / Product Water
When treating potable water and similar aqueous solutions, special care should be given to the initial cycles of the new resin. Recommended start-up conditions are available on request.

Safety and Handling

- Store ion exchange resins at temperatures above the freezing point of water, under roof, in dry conditions without direct sunlight.
- If resin becomes frozen, allow it to thaw gradually at ambient temperature before handling or use.
Disposal
In the European Community, ion exchange resins must be disposed of according to the European waste nomenclature.
