Summary

Product identification

Lewatit® S 8528 is a food-grade, macroporous, weakly acidic cation exchange resin based on a crosslinked polyacrylate. It has a special bead size distribution.

Applications

  • Standard co-current regenerated system
  • Standard mixed bed system
  • Applications in the food industry and for drinking water production

The resin is suitable for the decationisation and softening of tap water, sugar solutions, and solutions of organic products (e.g., sugar beet, sugar cane, starch sugar, glycerin, gelatine). It is particularly economical for the decarbonisation of drinking water and liquids used as foodstuffs or in their production due to its low regenerant requirement.
