Summary

Product identification

Lewatit® S 9167 is a food-grade, highly regenerated mixed-bed ion exchange resin. It consists of a 1:1.6 mixture of a strong acid cation exchange resin and a strong base anion exchange resin type I. The resin is ready for use without regeneration.

Applications:

  • Demineralisation of potable water and process water in food applications.
  • Mixed-bed polishing units after primary demineralisation systems.
  • Demineralisation of service water in small units, e.g., laboratories, household appliances (dishwashers, steam irons, air humidifiers).

Additional Information & Regulations

  • Safety precautions: Strong oxidants, such as nitric acid, can cause violent reactions with ion exchange resins. Observe the safety data sheet for additional information on product description, transport, storage, handling, safety, and ecology.
  • Disposal: In the European Community, ion exchange resins must be disposed of according to the European waste nomenclature.
  • Storage: Store ion exchange resins above the freezing point of water, under roof, in dry conditions, and without exposure to direct sunlight. If resin freezes, allow it to thaw gradually at ambient temperature before handling or use. Do not accelerate the thawing process.
