Summary

Product identification

  • Product Name: PUROLITE® A500/2788
  • Product Type: Strong Base Anion Macroporous Resin

Application

This macroporous Type I strong base anion exchange resin is efficient for extracting uranium complexes in in-situ (ISL), batch or heap leaching, and Resin-in-Pulp (RIP) processes. Its specially graded particle size makes it particularly suitable for RIP applications. The macroporous structure facilitates regeneration efficiency, leads to lower desorbate volumes, and results in high uranium concentrations in the desorbates. It is recommended for carbonate leaching processes with low risk of silica fouling. This resin can also be used for gold sorption following thiosulfate leaching of gold ores.

Basic Features

  • Resin Type: Macroporous polystyrene crosslinked with divinylbenzene
  • Appearance: Spherical beads
  • Functional Group: Type 1 Quaternary Ammonium
  • Ionic Form as Shipped: Cl⁻

Typical Physical and Chemical Characteristics

  • Total Capacity (min.): 1.15 eq/l (Cl⁻)
  • Total Capacity (min.): 25.11 kGr/ft³ (Cl⁻)
  • Moisture Retention: 53-58 % (Cl⁻)
  • Particle Size: 800-1300 µm (92 %)
  • Reversible Swelling (max.): See the official PDF for exact tabulated values.
