Summary
Product identification
- Product Name: PUROLITE® A500P
- Type: Strong Base Anion Macroporous
Application
Removal of Organic Matter from Industrial & Domestic Water Supplies, including tannins, fulvic and humic acids. It is designed for organic scavenging, protecting subsequent anion or mixed bed units from fouling.
Polymer Structure
- Structure: Macroporous polystyrene crosslinked with divinylbenzene
- Functional Group: Type 1 Quaternary Ammonium
Typical Physical and Chemical Characteristics
- Appearance: Spherical beads
- Ionic form as shipped: Cl⁻
- Total Capacity (min.) (Cl⁻): 0.80 eq/l
- Total Capacity (min.) (Cl⁻): 17.47 kGr/ft³
- Moisture Retention (Cl⁻): 63-70 %
- Mean Size Typical: 0.60-0.85 mm
- Uniformity Coefficient (max.): 1.70
Operating Characteristics
- Regeneration: 10% NaCl. 1-2% NaOH in brine is recommended to remove strongly-held color bodies.
- Temperature Considerations: For operation at temperatures less than 60°C (140°F), Purolite A-860 can also be evaluated. Comparative performance depends on the organic matter properties.
