Hydraulic Characteristics

BACKWASH

  • Bed Expansion: 50 to 70% for at least 10 to 15 minutes during up-flow backwash.
  • Initial Classification: Approximately 30 minutes of expansion when first putting into service.
  • Note: Bed expansion increases with flow rate and decreases with influent fluid temperature. Caution is advised to avoid resin loss through the top of the vessel by over expansion.

PRESSURE DROP

  • Factors Affecting Pressure Drop: Particle size distribution, bed depth, voids volume, flow rate, influent solution viscosity, filtered particulate matter, resin compressibility, and bed classification.
  • Service Flow Rates: May vary from 10 to 40 BV/h depending on influent water quality, application, and plant design.

TYPICAL PACKAGING

  • 1 ft³ Sack
  • 25 L Sack
  • 5 ft³ Drum (Fiber)
  • 1 m³ Supersack
  • 42 ft³ Supersack

PRINCIPAL APPLICATIONS

  • Demineralization - Industrial
