Hydraulic Characteristics

Backwash

  • Bed should be expanded between 50% and 70% during up-flow backwash for at least 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Expansion reclassifies resin particles and ensures minimum resistance to flow.
  • Initial service requires approximately 30 minutes of expansion.
  • Bed expansion increases with flow rate and decreases with influent fluid temperature.
  • Caution must be taken to avoid resin loss through the top of the vessel by over expansion.

Pressure Drop

  • Pressure drop depends on particle size, bed depth, voids volume, flow rate, and influent solution viscosity.
  • Factors like particulate matter, abnormal resin compressibility, or incomplete classification increase head loss.
  • Service flow rates may vary from 10 to 40 BV/h depending on water quality, application, and plant design.

Regulatory Approvals

  • IFANCA Halal Certified
  • Kosher Certified

Typical Packaging

  • 1 ft³ Sack
  • 25 L Sack
  • 5 ft³ Drum (Fiber)
  • 1 m³ Supersack
  • 42 ft³ Supersack
