Advantages

  • Lower pressure drop versus standard resin
  • Low extractables
  • Excellent physical and chemical stability
  • High operating capacity
  • Good kinetic performance

Hydraulic Characteristics

Backwash

  • Bed Expansion: Resin bed should be expanded between 50 and 70% during up-flow backwash for at least 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Initial Service Expansion: Approximately 30 minutes of expansion is usually sufficient to properly classify the bed when first putting into service.
  • Factors Affecting Expansion: Bed expansion increases with flow rate and decreases with influent fluid temperature.
  • Caution: Avoid loss of resin through the top of the vessel by over expansion.

Pressure Drop

  • Factors Affecting Pressure Drop: Particle size distribution, bed depth, voids volume, flow rate, and viscosity of the influent solution. Also affected by particulate matter, abnormal resin compressibility, or incomplete bed classification.
  • Service Flow Rates: May vary from 10 to 40 BV/h depending on influent water quality, application, and plant design.

Regulatory Approvals

  • Kosher Certified

Typical Packaging

  • 1 ft³ Sack
  • 25 L Sack
  • 5 ft³ Drum (Fiber)
  • 1 m³ Supersack
  • 42 ft³ Supersack
