Feed water / Product water

Purolite MB-500 IND is a resin mixture designed for direct purification of water. It changes color from blue-green to cream upon exhaustion. It can be used in both regenerable and non-regenerable cartridges.

The resin contains an indicator that signals when the resin is exhausted. A sharp color change is observed at standard flow rates of 5-40 BV/h. Water passage at recommended flow rates can achieve almost complete reduction of total dissolved solids.

  • Residual Conductivity: Average values of about 0.1 µS/cm can be achieved for a major portion of the service run.
  • Conductivity near exhaustion: Generally, water with a conductivity between 5-30 µS/cm is obtained when the green-blue color finally disappears.

Note: For the highest quality water, production should cease shortly before the complete color change.

Handling: The resin is supplied in black, air-tight packaging. Exposure to the atmosphere for extended periods can lead to a loss of hydroxide sites in the anion component due to conversion to carbonate from atmospheric carbon dioxide, potentially affecting treated water quality. Exposure to daylight can also cause loss of indicator color. Therefore, the resin should be loaded into cartridges as soon as possible after opening the packaging.
