Application

Purofine PFA500 is a macroporous type I strong base anion exchange resin designed for high operating capacity, especially at lower regeneration levels, due to its regeneration efficiency. It offers superior kinetic properties and is more resistant to organic fouling than standard macroporous type strong base anion resins, leading to higher purity treated water. Its narrow particle size distribution enhances its performance. The resin exhibits good resistance to osmotic and thermal shock and can reversibly sorb complex organic materials found in many surface water supplies. It is more resistant to fouling than gel resins and many other standard macroporous resins. Purofine PFA500 is suitable for most conventional ion-exchange column configurations. In two-stage deionizing plants, it demonstrates superior silica removal compared to most premium strong-base anion exchange resins. Working capacities up to 80% of total exchange capacity can be achieved with influent solutions having relatively high proportions of bicarbonate and sulfate.
