Mechanical / Hydraulic

  • Backwash Expansion:
    • 3.0 gpm/sq.ft. @ 40°F: 0% expansion
    • 6.0 gpm/sq.ft. @ 60°F: 20% expansion
    • 9.0 gpm/sq.ft. @ 80°F: 40% expansion
    • 12.0 gpm/sq.ft. @ 100°F: 60% expansion (Note: The graph indicates backwash expansion percentages based on flow rate and temperature. Exact values are visual approximations from the graph.)
  • Pressure Loss:
    • The graph shows pressure loss (psi/ft of Resin) versus flow rate (gpm/sq.ft.) at different temperatures (40°F, 60°F, 80°F, 100°F).
    • See the official PDF for exact tabulated values.
  • Minimum bed depth: 24 inches
  • Maximum pressure loss: 25 psi

Feed Water

  • Capacity and leakage data are based on: 2:1 Ca:Mg ratio, 500 ppm TDS as CaCO₃, 0.2% hardness in the salt and 10% brine concentration applied co-currently through the resin over 30 minutes.

Product Water

  • Potassium Form Softening: CG8-K is regenerated with potassium chloride, producing softened water with reduced sodium content.
  • Sodium Removal: CG8-K can remove sodium, with the resin preferring hardness over sodium.

Electrical

  • No information available in the extract.
