Hydraulic Characteristics

  • Bed expansion is a function of backwash flow rate and water temperature (see Figure 1 in original document).
  • Pressure drop data is a function of service flow rate and water temperature (see Figure 2 in original document). Pressure drop data is valid at the start of the service run with clear water and a correctly classified bed.
