DOWEX™ MAC-3 Resin is a macroporous weak acid cation exchange resin.

Description

DOWEX™ MAC-3 Resin offers high exchange capacity, excellent regeneration efficiency, very good resistance to osmotic shock, and good chemical and physical stability. It is effective for the removal of temporary hardness and dealkalization. It can also be used for metal recovery. DOWEX MAC-3 Resin can be supplied to meet the Total Organic Carbon (TOC) requirements of major European legislations for food and potable water applications, with recommendations for resin conditioning before use.

    • 5–20 m/h H₂SO₄ (2–8 gpm/ft²)

Hydraulic Characteristics

Figure 1 shows the bed expansion as a function of backwash flow rate and water temperature. Figure 2 shows pressure drop data as a function of service flow rate and water temperature.
