Summary
Product identification
- Product Name: AMBERJET™ 4400 Cl
- Product Type: Industrial Grade Strong Base Anion Exchanger
AMBERJET 4400 Cl resin is a uniform particle size, strong base anion exchange resin (Type 1) with a clear gel structure, based on crosslinked polystyrene. It features a higher capacity and lower moisture retention than AMBERJET 4200 Cl resin. Its uniform particle size distribution ensures excellent rinse performance, outstanding physical stability, high bead integrity, and resistance to osmotic shock and mechanical stress. This versatile product is suitable for various applications, including condensate polishing.

Applications
AMBERJET 4400 Cl resin is applicable in packed bed, stratified bed, and mixed bed units. It can handle high flow rates, up to approximately 120 BV/h, in condensate polishing mixed beds. The resin is designed for use in mixed beds with AMBERJET 1600 H or AMBERJET 1500 H resins, and in stratified beds with AMBERLITE IRA96SB resin.
Limits of Use
AMBERJET 4400 Cl resin is intended for industrial applications. For specific uses such as pharmaceutical, food processing, or potable water, consult Rohm and Haas for guidance on resin selection and operating conditions.
Hydraulic Characteristics (Water Treatment)
Bed expansion and pressure drop data as a function of backwash flow rate, service flow rate, and water temperature are presented in figures (Figure 1: Bed Expansion, Figure 2: Pressure Drop) within the original document. Pressure drop data are valid at the beginning of a service run with clear water and a correctly classified bed.
