[1] Contractual value

Suggested Operating Conditions

  • Maximum operating temperature: 60 °C
  • Minimum bed depth: 700 mm
  • Service flow rate: 5 to 40 BV*/h

Regeneration

  • Regenerant: NaOH
  • Level: 130 % of ionic load
  • Concentration: 2 to 4 %
  • Minimum contact time: 30 minutes
  • Slow rinse: 2 BV at regeneration flow rate
  • Fast rinse: 8 to 16 BV at 10 BV/h

*1 BV (Bed Volume) = 1 m³ solution per m³ resin

Performance

  • Operating capacity: Depends on water composition (CO₂ and SO₄ content), specific flow rate, and ionic load. Offers 15 to 30 % higher operating capacity than polystyrenic weak base resins.
  • Regeneration: Optimum regeneration with caustic soda equivalent to 120 to 140 % of the operating capacity is suggested.
  • Organic matter: Offers large reversible capacity for organic matter removal due to its aliphatic structure and flexible acrylic polymer structure.

Hydraulic Characteristics

  • Pressure drop: Approximately 18 kPa/m bed depth per 10 m/h at 15 °C.
  • Backwash: A flow rate of 4 m/h provides approximately 65 % bed expansion at 15 °C.

Limits of Uses

Suitable for industrial water treatment. For pharmaceutical, food processing, or potable water applications, consult Rohm and Haas for resin selection and operating conditions.
