1 BV (Bed Volume) = 1 m³ solution per m³ resin
Performance
- Operating Capacity: AMBERLITE IRA67RF resin offers an operating capacity 15 to 30 % higher than that of polystyrenic weak base resins. Actual capacity depends on water composition (CO₂ and SO₄ content), specific flow rate, and ionic load.
- Regeneration: Optimum regeneration conditions use caustic soda equivalent to 120 to 140 % of the operating capacity.
- Organic Matter: Exhibits a large reversible capacity for the removal of organic matter due to its aliphatic structure and flexible acrylic polymer structure, allowing for more complete elution of organics.
Hydraulic Characteristics
- Pressure drop: Approximately 10 kPa/m bed depth per 10 m/h at 15 °C.
- Backwash: A backwash flow rate of 6.5 m/h gives approximately 65 % bed expansion at 15 °C.
Limits of Use
Suitable for industrial water treatment. For pharmaceutical, food processing, or potable water applications, consult Rohm and Haas for advice on resin choice and operating conditions.
