Suggested operating conditions

This resin is designed for use in mixed beds, typically combined with AMBERLITE UP252 resin.

  • Composition in volume:

    • 60 % AMBERLITE UP900
    • 40 % AMBERLITE UP252
  • Service flow rate: 10 to 30 BV*/h

  • Linear velocity: 15 to 40 m/h

  • Bed depth: About 1.50 m for the whole mixed bed

  • 1 BV (Bed Volume) = 1 m³ solution per m³ resin

Regeneration

  • Regenerant: NaOH: 4 - 6 %
  • First regeneration: 200 g/L
  • Following regenerations: 75 to 150 g/L
  • Flow rate: 1 to 3 BV/h
  • Temperature: 20 to 40°C
  • Slow rinse: 2 BV at regeneration flow rate

Limits of use

AMBERLITE UP900 resin is suitable for industrial uses. For other specific applications (e.g., pharmaceutical, food processing, potable water), consult Rohm and Haas for resin selection and operating conditions.
