Summary

Product Identification

The Calpeda MXV and MXV EI series are Vertical Multi-Stage In-Line Pumps. They feature suction and delivery connections of the same diameter, arranged along the same axis.

Key construction features include:

  • Corrosion-resistant bearing sleeves lubricated by the pumped liquid.
  • Mechanical seal removal without dismantling the motor (for MXV 50, MXV 100 with motors exceeding 4 kW).
  • A pump with thrust bearing and sleeve coupling for use with any standard motor of IM V1 construction.
  • MXV EI models are available with an integrated I-MAT frequency converter for variable-speed operation.

Applications

These pumps are suitable for:

  • Water supply systems.
  • Clean, non-explosive liquids, free from solid, filamentary, or abrasive matter (with adaptation of sealing materials available on request).
  • Universal use in civil and industrial settings, including pressure-boosting systems, fire-extinguishing systems, high-pressure washing plants, irrigation, agricultural uses, and sport installations.

Operating Limits

  • Liquid Temperature: From -15 °C to +110 °C (up to +120 °C for MXV 50).
  • Operating Environment Temperature: Up to 40 °C.
  • Maximum Permissible Pressure in Pump Casing: 25 bar (16 bar for pumps with oval flanges).
  • NPSH: A safety margin of + 0.5 m is recommended for the NPSH value.
  • Liquid Properties for Performance Data: Head and power values are valid for liquids with a density ρ = 1.0 kg/dm³ and kinematic viscosity ν = max 20 mm²/sec.

Electrical

Standard Motor (MXV Series)

  • Type: 2-pole induction motor, 50 Hz (n ≈ 2900 rpm).
  • Construction: IM V1 (EN 60034-7).
  • Compatibility: Suitable for operation with a frequency converter.
  • Efficiency: Classification scheme IE3 for three-phase motors.
  • Insulation Class: F.
  • Protection: IP 55.
  • Rated Voltage (three-phase):
    • Up to 3 kW: 230/400 V
    • From 4 kW: 400/690 V
  • Variants (on request): Single-phase motor 230 V (up to 2.2 kW), other voltage ratings, frequency 60 Hz.

With Frequency Converter (MXV EI Series)

  • Power Range: From 0.75 kW up to 22 kW.
  • System: Equipped with an I-MAT frequency converter installed on board, creating a compact and efficient variable-speed system.
  • Control Range: From 1750 to 2900 rpm (2-pole).
  • Factory Programmed: Pumps are equipped with transducers suitable for operation and are factory programmed.
  • Protections:
    • Dry running.
    • Operations with closed connection ports.
    • System leakages.
    • Overcurrent in the motor.
    • Overvoltage and undervoltage of the power supply.
    • Current unbalances between phases.
  • Operating Modes:
    • Constant pressure mode (with pressure sensor).
    • Proportional pressure mode (with pressure sensor).
    • Constant flow mode (with flow meter).
    • Fixed speed mode (with setting of the speed preferential rotation).
    • Constant temperature mode (with temperature transducer).
