Product identification

The Caprari E4-6 series consists of 50 Hz electric borehole pumps.

Product codes are structured to identify specific pump and motor configurations:

  • Electric pump codes (e.g., E4XED 25/31 + MCK 43-8V) indicate the wet end and the coupled submersible motor.
  • Wet end identification codes (e.g., E4XED 25-4/31-V) specify:
    • E4X or E: Series.
    • ED, XD, XDB, PD, XPD: Pump type (e.g., Desert, Extra Performance Desert, Intermediate casing construction).
    • 25, 20, 40, 60, 52: Identification wet number.
    • -4 or -6: Coupling flange motor size (4" or 6").

    • -V or -W: Unit usage frequency (-V for 50 Hz, -W for 50/60 Hz).
    • A: Impeller trimming (if present).
  • Submersible motor identification codes (e.g., MCK43 -8) specify:
    • MC, MAC: Submersible motor.
    • K, R: Axial thrust.
    • 4 or 6: Nominal diameter in inches.
    • 3, 55, 5, 50: Nominal power in CV.

Operating limits

  • Maximum submersion: 150 m.
  • Maximum operating time with closed outlet (pump submersed): 3 min.
  • Hydraulic performance characteristics were measured with 400 V powered motors, cold water (15°C), and atmospheric pressure (1 bar).
  • Performance is guaranteed as conforming to standard UNI/ISO 9906 Grade 3B. For units coupled to MAC 6.../3B 6" motors, characteristics are guaranteed to UNI/ISO 9906 Grade 2B.
  • Catalogue data refers to liquids with a density of 1 kg/dm³ and kinematic viscosity not more than 1 mm²/s, inclusive of friction losses in the check valves.
  • Horizontal installation is available upon request if not usually foreseen.
