Operating Limits

  • Ambient temperature: -20 up to 40 °C
    • Note: If ambient temperature exceeds this value or motor is located more than 1000 m above sea level, motor cooling is less effective and may require adapted motor power. See the official PDF for detailed tables on increased required motor power.
  • Minimum inlet pressure: NPSHreq. + 1m
  • Viscosity: 1-100 cSt
    • Note: Deviation in viscosity and/or density could require adapted motor power.
  • Density: 1000-2500 kg/m³
  • Cooling: Forced motor cooling
    • Note: The free space above the motor cooling fan must be at least 1/4 of the diameter of the inlet of the cooling fan for sufficient airflow.
  • Minimum frequency: 30 Hz
  • Maximum frequency: 60 Hz
    • Note: Pumps that are intended for 50 Hz operation may not be connected to 60 Hz power supply.
  • Allowable size of solids pumped: 5µm to 1mm
  • Temperature range (basic pump model): -20 up to 140 °C
    • Exception: DPV 125 can be used up to 120 °C.
  • VE casing (with non-return valve) max. temperature: 90 °C
  • Mono-block motor version VM max. fluid temperature: 60 °C

Minimum Capacity

To prevent overheating, gas gathering, or cavitation, a minimum capacity (Qmin) must be secured. This corresponds to a percentage of the optimum flow (Qopt) in relation to the liquid temperature.

  • Minimum capacity (Qmin) at 20 °C (50 Hz):
    • DPV 2: 0.2 m³/h (2 pole), 0.2 m³/h (4 pole)
    • DPV 4: 0.4 m³/h (2 pole), 0.5 m³/h (4 pole)
    • DPV 6: 0.6 m³/h (2 pole), 0.8 m³/h (4 pole)
    • DPV 10: 1.1 m³/h (2 pole), 0.5 m³/h (4 pole)
    • DPV 15: 1.6 m³/h (2 pole), 0.8 m³/h (4 pole)
    • DPV 25: 2.6 m³/h (2 pole), 1.3 m³/h (4 pole)
    • DPV 40: 4 m³/h (2 pole), 2 m³/h (4 pole)
    • DPV 60: 6 m³/h (2 pole), 3 m³/h (4 pole)
    • DPV 85: 8.5 m³/h (2 pole), 4.3 m³/h (4 pole)
    • DPV 125: 13.1 m³/h (2 pole)
  • For higher temperatures, see the official PDF for the "Minimum capacity vs. temperature (in % of Q optimum)" table.

Feed Water

The pumps are designed for "clean, or lightly aggressive, watery mediums." Performance characteristics are based on:

  • De-aerated water at a temperature of 20 °C
  • Density of 1.0 kg/dm³
  • Kinematical viscosity of 1 mm²/s (1 cSt)

Electrical

  • Rated speed at 50 Hz (2 pole):
    • 0.37 and 0.55 kW: 2800 rpm
    • to 2.2 kW: 2880 rpm
    • to 4 kW: 2920 rpm
    • to 7.5 kW: 2940 rpm
    • to 22 kW: 2950 rpm
    • to 45 kW: 2960 rpm
  • Rated speed at 50 Hz (4 pole):
    • 0.55 kW: 1450 rpm
    • 0.75 kW: 1440 rpm
    • to 2.2 kW: 1425 rpm
    • to 4 kW: 1450 rpm
    • to 7.5 kW: 1460 rpm

    • VS: Hydraulic 1.4404, Casing 1.4408, Sealing FPM
    • VC (2-15): Hydraulic 1.4301, Casing JS1030, Sealing EPDM
    • VC (25-125): Hydraulic 1.4301, Casing JL1040, Sealing EPDM
  • Pump Bearing: Medium lubricated stage bearing, Tungsten Carbide against Ceramic.
  • Measuring, Draining, and Venting Connections:
    • Connection (E): G ¼ for draining inlet or measuring inlet/suction pressure.
    • Connection (F): G ¼ for draining outlet or measuring discharge pressure.
    • Connections (G): G 3/8 for venting pump system or measuring discharge pressure.
  • Performance Characteristics: Detailed hydraulic performance curves, efficiency, NPSHreq, and shaft power are available for each model in the official PDF, in accordance with ISO 9906:2012 (Grade 3B). See the official PDF for exact tabulated values.
  • Low NPSH Impeller: An optional low NPSH impeller solution is available for DPV(C/S) 2, 4, 6, 10, and 15 series. This option provides better NPSH values to prevent cavitation in critical inlet conditions. Using a low NPSH impeller results in slight adjustments to the performance curve but no change in pump height or connection.

    • DPV 2: MEI ≥ 0.70
    • DPV 4: MEI ≥ 0.70
    • DPV 6: MEI ≥ 0.70
