Feed Water

Flygt N-pumps are suitable for applications including:

  • Wastewater
  • Stormwater
  • Sludge
  • Industrial effluent
  • Raw water
  • Cooling water
  • Abrasive applications and waters that could cause erosion corrosion due to high oxygen content (when equipped with Hard-Iron™ components).
  • Applications requiring cutting long fibers or solids (when equipped with a chopper ring).

Electrical

  • Motor Type: Class H squirrel-cage induction motor.
  • Efficiency: Premium efficiency motors (IE3) are available. Motors are capable of fully utilizing available power when operating on a variable frequency drive.
  • Compliance: Tested and approved in accordance with national and international standards, including 60034-1, IEC60034-1, and CSA. Explosion-proof versions are available, approved by Factory Mutual, European Standard, and IEC.
  • Sensors:
    • Thermal sensors embedded in stator windings prevent overheating.
    • Optional leakage sensors in the stator and oil housings (for low capacity models).
    • Leakage sensor in the inspection chamber (for medium capacity models).
    • Analog temperature sensor monitors the lower bearing (for large capacity models).
    • Leakage sensors in the stator housing/leakage chamber and junction box (for large capacity models).

Mechanical / Hydraulic

  • Design: Patented N-technology with an innovative self-cleaning impeller, modular design.
  • Installation: Submersible and dry installations.
  • Discharge Sizes:
    • Low Capacity Pumps (Models 3085, 3102, 3127): 3" (80 mm), 4" (100 mm), 6" (150 mm)
    • Medium Capacity Pumps (Models 3153, 3171, 3202, 3301, 3315): Ranges from 3" (80 mm) to 10" (250 mm)
    • Large Capacity Pumps (Models 3231, 3306, 3312, 3356, 3400, 3531): Ranges from 8" (200 mm) to 20" (500 mm)
  • Impeller Options:
    • Cast iron impeller with hardened edges and insert ring (for typical pumping applications).
    • Hard-Iron™ (60 HRC) for abrasive and erosion corrosion applications.
    • Chopper ring for cutting long fibers or solids.
  • Seal Systems:
    • Spin-out™ Seal Protection: Expels abrasive particles from the seal chamber.
    • Long-life Seals: Durable tungsten carbide seals.
    • Griploc™ Seal (Models 3085 – 3127): Robust design with solid seal rings and patented griplock spring for axial fixation and torque transmission. Consists of two sets of mechanical shaft seals.
    • Adaptive N-impeller (Models 3085 – 3127): Can move axially to enable easy passage of large solids.
    • Flygt Plug-in™ Seal with Active Seal™ System (Models 3153 – 3315): A patented zero-leakage double-seal system that actively prevents liquid from entering the motor cavity. Features an inner seal with laser-cut grooves for a hydrodynamic pumping effect.
    • Active Seal™ System (Models 3231 – 3531): Patented zero-leakage double-seal system with an inner seal featuring laser-cut spiral grooves.
  • Shaft: Short shaft overhang to minimize vibration and reduce shaft deflection.
  • Cooling:
    • Cooled by the surrounding liquid (submersible installations).
    • Internal closed-loop cooling system (for more demanding applications).
    • Cooled by the pumped liquid (for large capacity pumps).
  • Cable Entry: Water-resistant cable entry provides sealing and strain relief.
  • Installation Methods:
    • P: Semi-permanent installation within a vertical steel or concrete column.
    • S: Semi-permanent wet well installations with twin guide bars on a discharge connection.
    • T: Vertically-mounted, permanent dry well or in-line installation with flange connections for suction and discharge pipework.
