Summary

Product Identification

The Goulds 3299 is a heavy-duty lined chemical pump, specifically Model 3299, designed for a wide range of high temperature/high pressure services.

Operating Limits

  • Capacities: to 425 GPM (95 m³/h)
  • Heads: to 490 feet (149 m)
  • Temperatures: to 360°F (182°C)
  • Pressures: to 275 PSIG (1896 kPa)
  • Solids Handling:
    • Standard: up to 0.06 inches with a maximum concentration of 2%.
    • With External Bearing Flush option: concentrations up to 10% and sizes up to 0.1875 inches in diameter.

Chemical Services

The 3299 is designed to handle corrosives requiring universal corrosion resistance of Virgin PFA. It is an effective alternative to pumps with mechanical seal problems and meets strict EPA regulations for zero emissions. Compatible fluids include:

  • Hot Acids
  • Nitric Acid
  • Acetic Acid
  • Amines
  • Chlorinated Solvents
  • Carbon Tetrachloride
  • Chloroform
  • Dichloroethylene
  • Freon 113
  • Ethers
  • Acetone
  • Bromine
  • Hydrofluoric Acid
  • Chlorine Dioxide
  • Sodium Hypochlorite

Electrical

  • PS10 Pump Load Monitor: Offers single underload or overload condition protection for pumps up to 40 HP (50 Amps MAX).

Mechanical / Hydraulic

  • Design: ANSI dimensions allow easy retrofit of problem ANSI pumps. Available in frame-mounted or close-coupled designs.
  • Construction Materials:
    • Casing: Ductile Iron/PFA, with a minimum 3/16" (4 mm) transfer molded PFA lining.
    • Impeller/Shaft Assembly: PFA lined 316 Stainless Steel core.
    • Bearing Carrier: PFA lined ductile iron.
    • Containment Shells: PTFE lining with carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) outer shell. Optional bonded shells for vacuum services.
    • Bearings: Dryguard™ Alpha Sintered Silicon Carbide.
    • Gasket: Fully confined PTFE casing gasket.
    • Magnets: Rare Earth Magnets; Neodymium Iron Boron drive and Samarium Cobalt driven assemblies. Optional Samarium Cobalt drive magnets for high temperature services.
  • Features:
    • Sealless design for zero leakage.
    • Fully encapsulated outer magnets for environmental protection and ease of cleaning.
    • Large internal passages for better solids handling and recirculation flow.
    • One-piece shaft and impeller assembly with enclosed impeller to minimize axial thrust.
    • Non-sparking rub ring.
    • Optional drain connection for easier draining and flushing.
  • Modular Interchangeability:
    • S Group Pump Sizes: 1x1½-6, 2x3-6, 1x1½-8
