Summary
Product identification
The Goulds 3700 is an API OH2 overhung, single-stage, radially split process pump, designed to meet or exceed API 610 11th Edition and ISO 13709 2nd Edition standards. It features an end-suction, centerline-mounted design.
Specific variants include:
- Model 3700LF: A low-flow solution featuring a semi-open radial vane Barske type impeller and a unique circular volute casing.
- Model 3703: An optional design for solids handling, utilizing a traditional-style semi-open impeller, with interchangeable parts with Model 3700.
Operating limits
- Capacity: Up to 8,500 GPM (1930 m³/h)
- Total Dynamic Head: Up to 1,200 feet (360 m)
- Temperature: Up to 800˚ F (425˚ C)
- Pressure: Up to 870 PSIG (60 bar)
- Designed for a 20-year life.
- Bearings sized for a minimum three-year life under most severe operating conditions.
Feed water
The Goulds 3700 pump is suitable for broad applications and demanding services, including:
- Applications: Petroleum refining, production and distribution; Petrochemical and demanding chemical processing; High-temperature applications (e.g., boiler circulation); General industrial applications requiring high temperatures or high pressures.
- Services: Column reflux, hot oil, stabilizer overhead, column bottoms, reboiler, stripper overhead, column charge, reactor feed, heat transfer, injection, tower bottoms, slop gas oil, fuel blending, heavy gas oil, scrubber circulation, offsite hydrocarbon transfer.
- Model 3703 Services: Mine dewatering and PTA chemical plant services.
Mechanical / hydraulic
The Goulds 3700 pump features an API OH2 overhung, single-stage, radially split design with an end-suction, centerline-mounted configuration.
- Hydraulic Coverage: Offers 54 casing sizes and 135 hydraulic combinations, with custom hydraulics available.
- Impeller: Multiple closed impellers for most casings, balanced to ISO 1940 Grade 1.0. 3700LF low-flow pumps and 3703 high-solids pumps utilize semi-open impellers.
- Wear Rings: Renewable wear rings are standard on all sizes (front and rear), positively locked and set screwed. Optional non-metallic rings are available. Wear rings are not utilized in 3700LF pumps.
- Casing: Features a tangential discharge design for maximized hydraulic efficiency. A dual volute casing is standard on 3-inch discharge and larger sizes to minimize radial load and reduce shaft deflection.
- Shaft: Rigid, heavy-duty design to minimize deflection and maximize bearing and mechanical seal life.
- Bearing Environment: Heavy-duty bearing frame with piloted and metal-to-metal fits. Features large oil sump capacity, cast fins for enhanced cooling, and condition-monitoring sites.
- Bearings: Duplex 40° angular contact thrust bearings and deep-groove (Conrad) radial bearings, exceeding API 610 / ISO 13709 requirements.
- Lubrication System: Proven, engineered ring-oiled flow-through bearing lubrication system with an extra-large oil sump and standard dual oil rings. Labyrinth oil seals, made from non-sparking metal, prevent oil leakage and contaminant intrusion.
- Seal Chamber: Enlarged API-682 seal chamber fully conforms to API-610 / ISO 13709 standards, accepting a wide range of API-682 / ISO 21049 cartridge mechanical seals. A renewable throat bushing is standard.
- Baseplate: Fabricated baseplate with an enlarged drain connection and continuously welded joints. Extra-width sizes are available.
- Interchangeability: Bearing frame, seal chamber, bearings, shaft, mechanical seal, impeller, and wear rings are completely interchangeable with Goulds Model 3910 bearing frame in-line process pumps. The entire back pull-out assembly is interchangeable with Model 3710.
