Summary

Product identification

The Goulds ChemBase Plus™ is a polymer concrete baseplate designed for pump applications.

Operating limits

The ChemBase Plus™ offers superior chemical resistance to many aggressive acids, alkalines, and organic solvents up to 250°F (121°C).

Mechanical / hydraulic

  • Construction Materials:
    • Proprietary formula combining Epoxy resins with quartz aggregate for exceptional strength and corrosion resistance.
    • Available in Zanite (Blue) and Novalac (Red) materials.
    • All pump and motor inserts are Stainless steel for excellent corrosion resistance and durability (Hast C available as option).
    • Polymer motor riser blocks and stainless steel hardware are used for motor/pump mounting.
  • Physical Characteristics:
    • Baseplate flatness: .002 inch per foot.
    • Integral drip pan with a ¾ inch CPVC drain connection.
    • ASME/ANSI-1991 dimensionally compliant.
    • Being 30% - 50% heavier than conventional steel baseplates, it helps reduce vibration.
    • Offers enhanced strength and rigidity, testing as rigid as a PIP baseplate.
  • Mounting and Installation:
    • Flat mounting surfaces to .002 inch per foot for easy, accurate alignment.
    • Most bases are supplied standard with multiple stainless steel mounting inserts suitable for various motor frame sizes.
    • Threaded leveling inserts are standard for quick, accurate baseplate leveling.
    • Standard grout hole for easy installation.
    • Foundation Bolt Holes are included.
    • Riser Blocks have a counterbore allowing them to be secured to the base during motor installation and alignment.

Features and Benefits

  • Superior resistance to twisting and diaphragming.
  • Corrosion resistant to most chemicals.
  • Low risk, low cost installation as it eliminates problems caused by improper grouting.
  • Very low maintenance.
  • Helps reduce vibration, resulting in longer seal and bearing life, and lower maintenance costs.
  • Quickest installation time, allowing the system to be up and running in 24 hours.
  • Significantly less capital costs compared to conventional steel bases with comparable features, saving money on preparation, installation, and maintenance.

Cost Comparison

The ChemBase Plus™ offers significant cost savings in total installed costs compared to conventional concrete, CI or FS (Cast Iron or Fabricated Steel), and epoxy-filled metal bases, primarily due to reduced installation labor and material requirements. See the official PDF for exact tabulated values.

Optional Configurations

  • Riser Block Kit
  • Epoxy/Insert Kit
  • BiD Adjuster
  • Close-Coupled
  • Long-Coupled
  • Stilt-Mounted
