CME-1
PDF datasheet mirror for CME-1 (Grundfos Pumps). Verify with OEM before design.
Summary
Product identification
The Grundfos CME 1 is a horizontal, multistage centrifugal pump. CME pumps are built upon the CM pump range, distinguished by their integrated Grundfos MGE motor. This motor is designed to EN standards and incorporates a frequency converter. CME pumps are part of the "E-pump family" and are suitable for 50/60 Hz operation.
CME pumps are recommended when the application requires:
- Controlled operation with fluctuating consumption
- Constant pressure
- Communication with the pump
Benefits of frequency-controlled speed adaptation include energy savings, increased comfort, and enhanced control and monitoring of the application and pump performance.
Operating limits
The 100% speed of CME pumps is approximately 3400 min⁻¹, irrespective of the input frequency.
For detailed performance curves showing head (H) in meters, flow rate (Q) in m³/h or l/s, pressure (p) in kPa, power (P₂) in kW, NPSH in meters, and efficiency (Eta) in %, please refer to the official PDF. The performance range for the CME 1 series shows maximum head values up to approximately 120 m and maximum flow rates up to approximately 2.8 m³/h.
Electrical
CME pumps feature a built-in frequency converter that enables continuously variable control of the motor speed, allowing the pump to operate at any duty point. A pressure sensor can be connected to the frequency converter.
Supply Voltage Options:
- CME 1-A (Cast iron version):
- 1 x 200-240 V, 50/60 Hz (supply voltage K)
- 1 x 208-230 V, 50/60 Hz (supply voltage M)
- CME 1-I and CME 1-G (Stainless steel versions):
- 1 x 200-240 V, 50/60 Hz (supply voltage K)
- 1 x 208-230 V, 50/60 Hz (supply voltage M)
- 3 x 380-480 V, 50/60 Hz (supply voltage L)
- 3 x 460-480 V, 60 Hz (supply voltage N)
Specific P₂ [kW] values for each pump type are available in the dimension tables within the official PDF.

Dimensions, Weights, and Shipping Volume:
Detailed dimensions (A1-A4, B1-B3, H, H1, H2, L1-L9 in mm) are provided in tables for CME 1-A, CME 1-I, and CME 1-G pump types based on frame size and P₂ [kW].
Net weights, gross weights, and shipping volumes [m³] are also tabulated for various CME 1 pump types and supply voltages.
For exact tabulated values for dimensions, weights, and shipping volumes, please refer to the official PDF.
Control and Communication
CME pumps offer communication capabilities via:
- A central building management system, allowing remote monitoring and adjustment of control modes and setpoint settings.
- A Grundfos R100 remote control (accessory), which uses an IR-signal to communicate with the pump's control panel.
- A control panel on the CME pump terminal box for manual setpoint adjustments.
Communication with CME pumps can be integrated into various networks using Grundfos CIU units, supporting protocols such as LON, PROFIBUS DP, Modbus RTU, GSM, GRM, and BACnet MS/TP.
