Summary

Product identification

The Grundfos CR, CRI, CRN, CRE, CRIE, and CRNE series are vertical, multistage centrifugal pumps operating at 50 Hz.

  • CR, CRI, CRN pumps: These are vertical, multistage centrifugal pumps with an in-line design, allowing installation in horizontal one-pipe systems. They are fitted with Grundfos standard motors (MG or Siemens) designed to EN standards.
  • CRE, CRIE, CRNE pumps (E-pumps): These are based on the CR, CRI, CRN pumps but are fitted with an E-motor (Grundfos MGE motor) that includes a built-in frequency converter. This enables continuously variable control of motor speed to adjust performance to specific requirements, offering benefits like energy savings, increased comfort, and control/monitoring. They can also be fitted with an integrated pressure sensor.

Applications The pumps are suitable for a wide range of applications, including:

  • Water supply: Filtration and transfer at waterworks, distribution, pressure boosting in mains, high-rise buildings, and industrial water supply.
  • Industry: Pressure boosting, process-water systems, washing and cleaning systems, vehicle-washing tunnels, fire-fighting systems, cooling and air-conditioning systems, boiler-feed and condensate systems, machine tools (cooling lubricants), aquafarming, and special transfer duties (oils, alcohols, acids, alkalis, glycol, coolants).
  • Water treatment: Ultra-filtration, reverse-osmosis, softening, ionising, demineralising, distillation systems, separators, and swimming baths.
  • Irrigation: Field irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, and drip-feed irrigation.

Product Range Overview

  • Rated Flow Rate: From 0.8 m³/h (CR 1s) up to 150 m³/h (CR 150).
  • Maximum Pump Efficiency: Ranges from 35% (CR 1s) to 81% (CR 90).
  • Flow Range (CR pumps): From 0.3 - 1.1 m³/h (CR 1s) to 75 - 180 m³/h (CR 150).

    • Note: Specific maximum operating pressures vary significantly by pump model and number of stages. See the official PDF for exact tabulated values.

  • Ambient Temperature:
    • 0.37 - 0.55 kW MG motors: Maximum +40 °C (at max. altitude 1000 m).

    • 30 - 75 kW Siemens motors: Maximum +55 °C (at max. altitude 2750 m).
  • Viscosity: Pumping liquids with densities or kinematic viscosities higher than water will result in a considerable pressure drop, a drop in hydraulic performance, and a rise in power consumption. A larger motor may be required in such situations.

    • pb = Barometric pressure in bar (can be set to 1 bar in open systems; system pressure in closed systems).
    • NPSH = Net Positive Suction Head in metres head (read from the NPSH curve at the highest flow).
    • Hf = Friction loss in suction pipe in metres head (at the highest flow).
    • Hv = Vapour pressure in metres head (depends on liquid temperature).
    • Hs = Safety margin = minimum 0.5 metres head.
