Hydro Solo E
PDF datasheet mirror for Hydro Solo E (Grundfos Pumps). Verify with OEM before design.
Summary
Product identification
Grundfos Hydro Solo-E booster sets are complete pressure boosting systems. Each unit consists of one E-pump (CRE) with an isolating valve, non-return valve, discharge pipe, pressure transmitter, pressure gauge, and diaphragm tank. The booster set is delivered ready for operation and is available for 50/60 Hz operation.
Operating limits
- Liquid temperature: 0°C to +70°C
- Ambient temperature: 0°C to +40°C
- Maximum system pressure: 10 bar. The total of inlet pressure and pump head must not exceed this value.
- Maximum inlet pressure:
- CRE 1, CRE 3, CRE 5: 10 bar
- CRE 10, CRE 15, CRE 20: 8 bar (for some models) or 10 bar
- CRE 32, CRE 45: 4 bar
- Minimum inlet pressure (to avoid cavitation): Calculated as H = (pb x 10.2 – NPSH – Hf – Hv – Hs), where:
- pb = Barometric pressure in bar (can be set to 1)
- NPSH = Net Positive Suction Head in metres head (from NPSH curve)
- Hf = Friction loss in suction pipe in metres head
- Hv = Vapour pressure in metres head
- Hs = Safety margin of min. 0.5 metres head
Feed water
- Test liquid: Pure water
- Performance measurement temperature: +20°C
Electrical
- Enclosure class: IP 55
- Insulation class: F
- Mains connection:
- Must be connected to an external mains switch.
- The E-pump must always be correctly earthed.
- Motors from 4.0 kW to 7.5 kW require especially reliable/sturdy earth connections due to an earth leakage current above 3.5 mA.
- The pump requires no external motor protection; the motor incorporates thermal protection against slow overloading and blocking (IEC 34-11: TP 211).
- The pump starts approximately 5 seconds after mains switch-on.
- The number of starts and stops via the mains voltage must not exceed 4 times per hour.
- Earth leakage circuit breaker (ELCB) requirements for additional protection:
- Single-phase: ELCBs must trip on earth fault currents with DC content (pulsating DC).
- Three-phase: ELCBs must trip on earth fault currents with DC content (pulsating DC) and smooth DC earth fault currents.
- Typical supply voltage ranges:
- 1 x 200-240 V, +/-10% (Max. 10 A)
- 3 x 380-480 V, +/-10% (Max. 10 A)
- Electrical data by model: Motor power (kW) and full load current (A) are tabulated for each pump type and supply voltage. See the official PDF for exact tabulated values.
Mechanical / hydraulic
- Construction materials: Discharge pipe is stainless steel (EN/DIN 1.4401 or EN/DIN 1.4571).
- Components: CRE pump, diaphragm tank, pressure gauge, isolating valve for diaphragm tank and pressure gauge, isolating valve, discharge pipe, pressure transmitter, non-return valve, on/off-switch, nameplate.
- Installation requirements:
- Install in a well-ventilated room.
- Not suitable for outdoor installation.
- Requires sufficient clearance around the booster set.
- Position on an even and solid surface (e.g., concrete floor or foundation).
- If not fitted with vibration dampers, it must be bolted to the floor or foundation.
- Pipes connected to the booster set must be of adequate size.
- Expansion joints and pipe hangers are recommended but not included in a standard set.
- Diaphragm tank:
- Pre-charged to correct pressure upon delivery.
- Recommended pre-charge pressure calculation: 0.7 x setpoint.
- Pre-charge pressure must be measured in a pressureless system.
- Recommended to refill the tank with nitrogen.
- Connections: Inlet and outlet connection types and sizes (e.g., Rp 1¼, Rp 1½, DN 50, DN 65, DN 80) are specified per model. See the official PDF for exact tabulated values.
- Dimensions and Weights: Height (mm), net weight (kg), gross weight (kg), and packing volume (m³) are tabulated for each pump type. See the official PDF for exact tabulated values.
Control
- Control options for CRE pumps:
- Central management system (via LON-bus or GENIbus connection with G10-LON Interface).
- Remote control (Grundfos R100) via IR-signal.
- Control panel on the CRE pump terminal box.
- Purpose: Monitor and control system pressure, temperature, flow, and liquid level.
- Functions available via control panel: Setpoint, Start/stop, Max. curve, Min. curve, Operating indication, Fault indication.
- Functions available via R100 remote control: Setpoint, Start/stop, Max. curve, Min. curve, Controlled/uncontrolled, PI-controller, Signal relay, Operating range, Stop function, Operating indication, Pump status.
Accessories
- R100 Remote Control: Used for wireless communication via infrared light. Product number: 625333.
- Dry-running protection: Obligatory and mounted on site. Available types:
- Automatic reset after water shortage (pressure switch ranges: 0.11-2 bar, 0.22-4 bar, 0.5-8 bar).
- Manual reset after water shortage (pressure switch ranges: 0.11-2 bar, 0.22-4 bar, 0.5-8 bar).
