Product Identification

The Grundfos TP, TPD, TPE, TPED, TPE2, TPE2 D, TPE3, and TPE3 D series are in-line circulator pumps, operating at 50 Hz. These are single-stage, in-line centrifugal pumps with a mechanical shaft seal and a close-coupled design where the pump and motor are separate units.

Pump Types:

  • TP and TPD: Mains-operated pumps.
    • TP Series 100: Union or flange connection from Rp 1 (DN 25) to Rp 1 1/4 (DN 32), with motor sizes from 0.12 to 0.25 kW.
    • TP Series 200: Flange connection from DN 32 to DN 100, with motor sizes from 0.12 to 2.2 kW.
    • TP Series 300:
      • 16-bar version: DN 32 to DN 350 flanges, with motor sizes from 0.25 to 315 kW.
      • 25-bar version: DN 100 to DN 400 flanges, with motor sizes from 5 to 630 kW.
  • TPE, TPE2, TPE3, TPED, TPE2 D, TPE3 D: Electronically speed-controlled pumps based on TP pump construction.
    • TPE Series 1000: Without factory-fitted differential-pressure sensor. Motors include a built-in frequency converter, allowing control based on external signals (constant pressure, temperature, or flow).
    • TPE Series 2000: With factory-fitted differential-pressure sensor. Factory-set to proportional-pressure control. Motors include a built-in frequency converter for continuous pressure adjustment.
    • TPE2 pumps: Without built-in differential-pressure sensor and temperature sensor. Feature permanent-magnet motors with built-in frequency converters and optimized hydraulic components.
    • TPE3 pumps: With built-in differential-pressure sensor and temperature sensor. Factory-set to AUTOADAPT control. Feature permanent-magnet motors with built-in frequency converters and optimized hydraulic components. Incorporate advanced functions such as AUTOADAPT, FLOWADAPT, automatic night setback, FLOWLIMIT, heat energy monitor, flow rate estimation, proportional pressure, constant pressure, constant differential temperature control, and constant temperature control.

Motor Efficiency:

  • TP pumps are fitted with high-efficiency motors, primarily meeting EuP IE3 grade legislative requirements.
  • Pumps are also available with motors from 2.2 to 132 kW meeting EuP IE4 grade.
  • All TPE pumps with 2-pole motors up to 11 kW and 4-pole motors up to 7.5 kW are fitted with Grundfos permanent-magnet MGE motors with motor efficiency class IE5 according to IEC 60034-30-2.
  • ATEX-approved TP and TPD pumps are available on request.

Operating Limits

System and Test Pressures:

  • PN 6: System pressure 6 bar (0.6 MPa), Test pressure 10 bar (1.0 MPa)
  • PN 10: System pressure 10 bar (1.0 MPa), Test pressure 16 bar (1.6 MPa)
  • PN 16: System pressure 16 bar (1.6 MPa), Test pressure 24 bar (2.4 MPa)
  • PN 25: System pressure 25 bar (2.5 MPa), Test pressure 38 bar (3.8 MPa)

Ambient Temperature:

  • MG IE3 motors (0.75 - 22 kW, 2-pole; 0.75 - 15 kW, 4-pole): -20 to +60 °C
  • Siemens IE3 motors (30-90 kW, 2-pole; 18.5 - 90 kW, 4-pole): -20 to +55 °C
  • MGE motors (0.12 - 11 kW, 2-pole; 0.12 - 7.5 kW, 4-pole): -20 to +50 °C
  • MGE motors (15-22 kW, 2-pole; 11 - 18.5 kW, 4-pole): -20 to +40 °C
  • Other motor sizes: -20 to +40 °C
  • Storage: Down to -30 °C

Installation Altitude:

  • Standard motor: Motor output (P2) must be reduced if ambient temperature exceeds maximum values or if the motor is located more than 1000 m above sea level.
  • Grundfos MGE motor: Can be loaded 100% up to 1000 m above sea level. Can be installed up to 3500 m above sea level, but motor output power reduces with altitude. Supply voltage must be adapted to altitude to maintain galvanic isolation and ensure correct clearance. See the official PDF for exact tabulated values and graphs.

Pumped Liquids

The pumps are suitable for thin, clean, non-aggressive, and non-flammable liquids, free from solid particles or fibers that could cause mechanical or chemical damage.

Examples of suitable liquids:

  • Central heating system water (must meet accepted water quality standards).
  • Cooling liquids.
  • Domestic hot water.
  • Industrial liquids.
  • Softened water.

Considerations for specific liquids:

  • If glycol or other antifreeze agents are added, the pump must have a BQQE or DQQE type shaft seal.
  • Pumping liquids with higher density and/or kinematic viscosity than water will result in a considerable pressure drop, a drop in hydraulic performance, and a rise in power consumption. A bigger motor may be required.
  • If water contains mineral or synthetic oils, chemicals, or other liquids are pumped, O-rings must be chosen accordingly.

  • -40 to +150 °C

  • Frequency: 50 Hz
  • Voltage ranges (depending on pump type and motor configuration):
    • 1 x 200-240 V
    • 1 x 220-230 ΔV/240 YV
    • 3 x 220-240 ΔV/380-415 YV
    • 3 x 380-415 ΔV/660-690 YV (for 2-pole motors above 5.5 kW and 4-pole motors above 4 kW)

    • 3 x 380-500 V
