Summary

Product identification

The Lowara e-LNE Series consists of single-impeller centrifugal pumps with in-line suction and delivery flanges. These pumps feature a "Back pull-out" design, allowing the impeller, adapter, and motor to be extracted without disconnecting the pump body from the piping system.

The series is available in two main constructions:

  • LNEE: Extended shaft
  • LNES: Stub shaft

The product line is compliant with ErP 2009/125/EC directives, equipped with IE3 motors, and meets hydraulic efficiency requirements.

Standard materials:

  • Casing: Cast iron
  • Impeller: Cast iron (also available in bronze and stainless steel)
  • O-Ring: EPDM
  • Mechanical seal: Carbon / Silicon carbide / EPDM (BQ1EGG-WA)

Operating limits

  • Fluid temperature range:
    • Standard version (with mechanical seal BQ1EGG-WA and EPDM gasket): -25 to +120 °C
    • Versions on request (depending on mechanical seal and gasket): -20* or -25 to +120 or +140 °C
    • *Fluoro-elastomer: FPM (old ISO), FKM (ASTM & new ISO).
  • Maximum operating pressure:
    • Standard version (with mechanical seal BQ1EGG-WA): 16 bar @ 90 °C and 10 bar @ 120 °C
    • Versions on request (with other mechanical seals): 16 bar @ 120 °C and 14.9 bar @ 140 °C
  • Maximum ambient temperature: 40 °C
  • Pump rotation: Anti-clockwise when facing pump’s suction port.
  • Counter-flanges: Not included with the pump.

Feed water

The pumps are designed for use with clean water. For ErP compliance testing, clean water at a temperature not higher than 40 °C is used.

Electrical

The e-LNE Series pumps are equipped with IE3 efficiency motors, compliant with ErP 2009/125/EC directives.

Motor specifications:

  • Type: Squirrel cage in short circuit enclosed construction with external ventilation (TEFC).
  • Poles: 2-pole and 4-pole ranges.
  • Protection degree: IP55 as motor (EN 60034-5), IPX5 as electro-pump (EN 60529).
  • Performance: According to EN 60034-1.
  • Efficiency level: IE3 (three-phase 0.75 to 375 kW).
  • Insulation class: 155 (F).
  • Standard voltage (50 Hz):
    • 1 x 220-240 V for power up to 2.2 kW.
    • 3 x 220-240/380-415 V for power up to 3 kW.
    • 3 x 380-415/660-690 V for power above 3 kW.
  • Overload protection:
    • Single-phase version (220-240 V 50 Hz): Built-in automatic reset overload protection up to 1.5 kW. For higher powers, protection must be provided by the user.
    • Three-phase version: Overload protection to be provided by the user.
  • PTC: Included as standard only for WEG motors (one per phase, 155 °C).

ErP motor efficiency requirements (Regulation (EC) No 640/2009 and (EU) No 4/2014):

  • From 1st January 2015: Motors with 7.5 to 375 kW rated powers must have efficiency level IE3 (or IE2 + Variable Speed Drive).
  • From 1st January 2017: Motors with 0.75 to 375 kW rated powers must have efficiency level IE3 (or IE2 + Variable Speed Drive).

Mechanical / hydraulic

  • Pump design: Single-impeller centrifugal pump with in-line suction and delivery flanges. Features a "Back pull-out" design.
  • Hydraulic performance compliance: ISO 9906:2012 – Grade 3B (Grade 2B and 1B available upon request).
  • Maximum delivery:
    • 2 poles range: 305 m³/h
    • 4 poles range: 900 m³/h
  • Maximum head:
    • 2 poles range: 95 m
    • 4 poles range: 57 m

ErP pump ecodesign requirements (Regulation (EU) No 547/2012) for end-suction close-coupled in-line pumps (ESCCi):

  • Efficiency assessment refers to the pump only (not the pump and motor assembly).
  • Applies to pumps with one impeller.
  • Nominal pressure PN not higher than 16 bar (1600 kPa).
  • Minimum nominal flow not less than 6 m³/h.
  • Maximum nominal power at the shaft not higher than 150 kW.
  • Designed to operate at a speed of 2900 min⁻¹ (50 Hz 2-pole electric motors) with a head not greater than 140 metres.
  • Designed to operate at a speed of 1450 min⁻¹ (50 Hz 4-pole electric motors) with a head not greater than 90 metres.
  • Use with clean water at a temperature ranging from -10 °C to 120 °C (test performed with cold water at a temperature not higher than 40 °C).

Minimum Efficiency Index (MEI):

  • Water pumps shall have index MEI 0.4 as minimum from 1st January 2015.
  • The Lowara e-LNE series is ErP compliant, having an index MEI equal or higher than 0.4.
  • The benchmark for most efficient water pumps is MEI ≥ 0.70.
  • The MEI is based on the full impeller diameter. The efficiency of a pump with a trimmed impeller is usually lower.
  • Operation with variable duty points may be more efficient and economic when controlled by a variable speed drive.

For exact tabulated MEI values for specific models, please refer to the official PDF datasheet.

Mechanical seals:

  • Mechanical seals have mounting dimensions according to EN 12756 and ISO 3069.
  • Standard mechanical seal: BQ1EGG-WA (Carbon / Silicon carbide / EPDM elastomers, AISI 316 springs and other components).
  • Pressure/temperature application limits for standard seal: 16/10 bar, -25 to +90/+120 °C.
  • Other mechanical seal types and their pressure/temperature limits are available, including combinations of Silicon carbide, Tungsten carbide, Antimony impregnated carbon, Resin impregnated carbon, EPDM, and FKM (FPM) elastomers.
