VM Series
PDF datasheet mirror for VM Series (Lowara Pumps). Verify with OEM before design.
Summary
Product identification
The Lowara VM Series consists of close-coupled, threaded, vertical multistage centrifugal electric pumps. These pumps are equipped with IE3 motors, complying with Regulation (EC) no. 640/2009 and ErP 2009/125/EC for 50 Hz operation.
The VM series is a non-self-priming, high-pressure centrifugal pump designed with threaded inlet and outlet manifolds. It features a close-coupled design and is fitted with an innovative hydraulic design for high efficiency. The pumps are highly modular and available in four different sizes.
Applications include:
- Water supply and pressure boosting systems in residential and small commercial buildings.
- Small to medium irrigation systems.
- Liquid handling systems.
All VM series pumps are certified for drinking water use (WRAS and ACS certified).
The series can be supplied as a single pump or, upon request, as a variable speed system with an embedded Lowara Teknospeed variable driver.
Operating limits

- +90°C for versions with three-phase motor (as per EN 60335-2-41)
- +60°C for versions with single-phase motor
- For pump efficiency evaluation, designed for use with clean water at -10°C to 120°C (test performed with cold water ≤ 40°C).
- Storage and transport temperature: -40°C to +60°C
- Minimum efficiency index (MEI): ≥ 0,7 for all four pump sizes (1VM, 3VM, 5VM, 10VM). The benchmark for most efficient water pumps is MEI ≥ 0,70.
- Pump efficiency evaluation criteria (Regulation (EU) n. 547/2012):
- Refers to the pump only, not the pump and motor assembly.
- Applies to pumps with nominal pressure PN not higher than 25 bar (2500 kPa).
- Applies to pumps designed to operate at 2900 min⁻¹ (50 Hz, 2-pole electric motors).
- Applies to pumps with a maximum flow of 100 m³/h.
