    • Crankcase of aluminium-cast or solid spheroidal-cast iron (P41, P50, P71) for high stability and vibration damping.
    • Crankshaft with grooved ball bearings or coned roller bearings (P41, P50, P71) together with plain bearing con rod running in oil-bath.
    • Solid ceramic plunger.
    • Double plunger sealing of high-temperature resistant fibre.
    • Coolant on P41DK, P50DK and P71DK to keep seals cool, increasing seal life.
    • Identical suction and discharge valves, easily accessible.
  • Materials Used:
    • Valve Casing: Special Brass; P50DK and P71DK Cast Bronze; P71GDK – nickel-plated sphero-cast-iron.
    • Plunger: Solid ceramic.
    • Valves: High Grade Stainless Steel.
    • Sleeves: Nitrile / Hot Water Nitrile with fabric reinforcing.
    • Crankshaft: Drop-forged and case-hardened.

Operating limits

  • Data provided is for intermittent operation. Data for continuous operation is available on request.
  • A safety valve must be installed in accordance with guidelines for liquid spraying units, set so that the admissible operating pressure cannot be exceeded by more than 10%. Pump operation without a safety valve, or any excess in temperature or speed limits, automatically voids the warranty.

Feed water

  • NPSHR: NPSHR-values must be kept under control.
  • Intake Pressure: Intake pressure must be determined depending on the medium temperature, potentially requiring a centrifugal pump as a booster pump.
  • Pulsation Damping:
    • Water column pulsation on the suction side of the high-pressure pump must be damped by means of an air chamber or a diaphragm accumulator.
    • For pump models up to P30/43D, a suction line one size larger than the pump connection usually suffices. In this case, a flexible hose must be installed from a distance of at least 2m in front of the pump to damp pulsation.
    • For P41, P50, and P71 pumps, it is advisable to provide means for a pulsation damper which can be fitted in the inlet line so that all the water flows through the damper. The necessity depends largely on the conception of the whole system.
    • If several pumps are to be applied to one system, every individual high-pressure pump must be provided with a separate suction line leading out of either a ventilated or damped head tank. Depending on static suction height and temperature, every suction line must be fitted with its own booster pump to ensure NPSHR values are maintained.
    • Should several high-pressure pumps be connected to one common suction line, a suction stream stabiliser is to be installed in front of every pump which controls pulsation damping. Overlaying suction pulsations from individual high-pressure pumps can lead to cavitation.
  • Seal Cooling (DK models): Pump models P41DK, P50/94DK, and P71DK are supplied equipped with fittings for a coolant for the high-pressure seals. The plunger seal cases are connected to one another by pipe fittings behind the high-pressure seals, through which cool water flows. This keeps the seals cool and extends their life considerably.

Electrical

  • Power Calculation Formula: Intermediate values for power (kW) can be established by linear extrapolation. A general formula for calculating power is: P (bar) x Q (l/min) = kW / 475.

Mechanical / hydraulic

  • Intermediate values for output / speed and pressure / output / kW can be established by linear extrapolation.
  • Dimension sheets are available for various models (P11/10-100D, P11/13-100D, P11/15-100D, P21/18-130D, P21/23-130D, P30/36-150D, P30/43-130D, P41/58-110DK, P50/94-110DK, P71/145-180(G)DK, P71/250-100(G)DK). Dimensions are in mm.
