Summary
Product identification
SPECK HIGH-PRESSURE PLUNGER PUMPS, SERIES NP10, Short Stroke.
Available models:
- NP10/1-170
- NP10/2-170
- NP10/4-150
- NP10/7-150
Operating limits
Data provided is for intermittent operation; data for continuous operation is available on request.
A safety valve must be installed in accordance with the guidelines for liquid spraying units, set so that the admissible operating pressure cannot be exceeded by more than 10%. Pump operation without a safety valve, or any excess in temperature or speed limits, automatically voids the warranty.
| Type | Power Consump. (kW) | Pressure max. (bar) | RPM max. (min⁻¹) | Output max.** (l/min) | Water-Temp. max. (°C) | Plunger dia. (mm) | Stroke (mm) | Weight approx. (kg) | NPSH Required (mWs) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| NP10/1-170 | 0,53 | 170 | 1450 | 1,2 | 70 | 12 | 3,4 | 6,0 | -- |
| NP10/2-170 | 1,1 | 170 | 1450 | 2,3 | 70 | 12 | 5,5 | 6,0 | -- |
| NP10/4-150 | 1,0 | 150 | 1450 | 3,4 | 70 | 18 | 3,4 | 6,0 | -- |
| NP10/7-150 | 2,1 | 150 | 1450 | 7,2 | 70 | 18 | 7,0 | 6,0 | -- |
Note on Output: The output is calculated on the basis of priming from a tank whose water level is plane with the pump suction port. Output increases by approximately 3% where the input pressure is 1 to 4 bar.
Feed water
SPECK TRIPLEX Plunger Pumps are suitable for pumping clean water and other non-aggressive or abrasive media with a specific weight similar to water. Prior to pumping any other media, a check must be made to find out whether these pumps, taking pump performance and temperature values into consideration, are suitable for pumping the required medium.
Particular care must be taken when pumping warm water, making absolutely sure that cavitation cannot occur.
NPSH Required values are not specified in the provided table.
Electrical
Power consumption values are listed in the table above. A general formula for calculating power is: P (bar) x Q (l/min) = kW / 475
Mechanical / hydraulic
Construction Characteristics:
- Crankcase of solid aluminium-cast.
- Crankshaft and ball bearings together with plain bearing con rod all run in oil.
- Solid ceramic plunger.
- Double plunger sealing with Leakage-return.
- All gaskets in seal sleeves ensuring precise centring and easy replacement.
- Identical suction and discharge valves, easily accessible.
Materials Used:
- Valve Casing: Special Brass.
- Plunger: Ceramic.
- Valves: High-Grade Stainless Steel.
- Sleeves: Nitrile with fabric reinforcing.
- Support Rings: Teflon with graphite, run-dry-proof.
- Crankshaft: Drop-forged and case-hardened.
Installation Notes: Even though SPECK-TRIPLEX NP10 pumps run almost pulsation-free, there are cases where a pressure accumulator is necessary. This will depend mainly on the construction of the unit and the conditions under which it is operated. The same effect can also be achieved by using flexible pressure lines. In any case, use of a pulsation damper adds considerably to the life of the seals and bearings.
Special Versions:
- All models of NP10 short stroke series are available in AISI 316Ti stainless steel under the supplement letters 'RE'.
- The same series is also available with nickel-plated valve casings under the supplement 'nickel-plated'.
- The NP10/4 and NP10/7 models are also available with bronze valve casings and stainless steel wetted parts under the supplement letter 'S'.
- Special seals are available upon request.
