Summary

Product Identification

The SPECK P41 series consists of high-pressure triplex plunger pumps.

Available models and their key specifications for intermittent operation are:

TypeCode No.Power Consump. (kW)Pressure max. (bar)RPM max. (min⁻¹)Output max. (l/min)Water Temp. max. (°C)Plunger dia. (mm)Stroke (mm)Weight approx. (kg)NPSH Required (mWs)

Intermediate values for output/speed and pressure/output/kW can be established by linear extrapolation.

Operating Limits

  • Maximum Water Temperature: 70 °C
  • Operation Type: Data provided is for intermittent operation. Data for continuous operation is available upon request.
  • Safety Valve: A safety valve must be installed in accordance with guidelines for liquid spraying units. It must be set so that the admissible operating pressure is not exceeded by more than 10%.
  • Warranty: Pump operation without a safety valve, or any excess in temperature or speed limits, automatically voids the warranty.
  • Cavitation: Particular care must be taken when pumping warm water to ensure cavitation does not occur.

Feed Water

SPECK TRIPLEX Plunger Pumps are suitable for pumping:

  • Clean water
  • Other non-aggressive or abrasive media with a specific weight similar to water.

Prior to pumping any other media, suitability and resistance of the pumps (standard or special versions), considering performance and temperature values, must be checked.

Electrical

A general formula for calculating power is: P (bar) x Q (l/min) = kW / 475

Mechanical / Hydraulic

Construction Characteristics:

  • Crankcase of solid cast-iron for high stability and vibration dampening.
  • Crankshaft with taper roller bearings and plain bearing con rod, all running in oil.
  • Solid ceramic plunger.
  • Drip-return system for long seal-life and drip-free operation.
  • Identical suction and discharge valves, easily accessible via plugs.

Materials Used:

  • Valve Casing: Bronze
  • Plunger: Solid ceramic
  • Valves: High-Grade Stainless Steel
  • Sleeves: Nitrile with fabric reinforcing
  • Crankshaft: Drop-forged and case-hardened

Installation Notes:

  • Even though SPECK-TRIPLEX P41 pumps run almost pulsation-free, a pressure accumulator may be necessary depending on the unit's construction and overall operating conditions. Flexible pressure lines can also achieve a similar effect.
  • Use of a pulsation damper adds considerably to the life of seals and bearings.

Special Versions:

  • 'RE' Designation: The P41/58 and P41/70 models are available in AISI 316Ti stainless steel.
  • 'S' Designation: The P41/58 and P41/70 models are also available with bronze valve casings and stainless steel wetted parts.
  • Special seals are available upon request.
