Summary
Product identification
- High-Pressure Plunger Pumps, Series P80/P81.
- SPECK TRIPLEX Plunger Pumps.
- The P81 series features a reduction gear.
Operating limits
- Data provided is for intermittent operation; data for continuous operation is available upon request.
- Higher medium temperatures are available upon request.
- A safety valve must be installed to ensure the admissible operating pressure is not exceeded by more than 10%.
- Cavitation must be avoided.
- Operating without a safety valve or exceeding temperature/speed limits automatically voids the warranty.

Feed water
- Suitable for pumping clean water and other non-aggressive or non-abrasive media with a specific weight similar to water.
- Prior to pumping any other media, a check must be made to establish whether the standard and/or special-version pumps are suitable, taking pump performance and temperature values into consideration.
- Particular care must be taken when pumping warm water.
Electrical
- Power consumption values are listed in the performance table.
- A general formula for calculating power is: P (bar) x Q (l/min) = kW / 475.
- P81 series pumps are designed for coupling with truck auxiliary drives or hydraulic drives.
Mechanical / hydraulic
Construction Characteristics
- Crankcase made of solid sphero-cast-iron ensuring high strength and vibration damping.
- Drive with integrated oil cooler (P81 series) for maximum load and continuous operation.
- Pump with reduction gear (P81 series).
- Crankshaft with taper roller bearings together with plain bearing conrod, all running in oil.
- Hard metal-coated stainless steel plunger.
- Plunger sealing with integrated drip-return.
- All gaskets held in seal sleeves ensuring precise centering and easy replacement.
- Suction and discharge valves are easily accessible via a divided valve casing.
- Valve casing can be easily emptied via a drain plug.
Materials Used
- Valve Casing: Stainless Steel AISI CA 6-NM (1.4313)
- Plunger: Hard metal-coated stainless steel
- Valves: Duplex-Steel / AISI 631 (1.4568)
- HP-Seal: Form-compressed special packing
- Crankshaft: Drop-forged and case-hardened
Installation Notes
- Even though SPECK-TRIPLEX pumps run almost pulsation-free, there are cases where a pressure accumulator is necessary. This depends mainly on the construction of the unit and the conditions under which it is operated. The same effect can also be achieved by using flexible pressure lines.
