Summary
Product identification
The P80 series consists of high-pressure plunger pumps.
Models include:
- P80/185-300G
- P80/215-260G
- P80/285-200(G)
- P80/340-170(G)
- P80/400-140(G)
- P80/500-100G
G-versions feature special nickel-plated sphero-cast-iron valve casings, while the standard version uses special brass.
Operating limits
Data provided is for intermittent operation; data for continuous operation is available on request. Intermediate values for output/speed and pressure/output/kW can be established by linear extrapolation.
| Type | Power Consump. (kW) | Pressure max. (bar) | Pump RPM max. (min⁻¹) | Output max. (l/min) | Water-Temp. max.* (°C) | Plunger dia. (mm) | Stroke (mm) | Weight approx. (kg) | NPSH Required (mWs) |

*Higher medium temperature upon request.
A safety valve must be installed to ensure the admissible operating pressure is not exceeded by more than 10%. Exceeding temperature or speed limits voids the warranty.
Feed water
SPECK TRIPLEX Plunger Pumps are suitable for pumping clean water and other non-aggressive or non-abrasive media with a specific weight similar to water. Prior to pumping any other media, suitability and resistance of the pumps (standard or special version) must be checked, considering performance and temperature values. Particular care must be taken when pumping warm water to prevent cavitation.
Electrical
Power consumption ranges from 96.0 kW to 110.0 kW, depending on the model. A general formula for calculating power is: P (bar) x Q (l/min) = kW / 475.
Mechanical / hydraulic
Construction Characteristics:
- Crankcase of solid sphero-cast-iron for high strength and vibration damping.
- Drive with integrated oil cooler for maximum load and continuous operation.
- Crankshaft with taper roller bearings and plain bearing conrod, all running in oil.
- Solid ceramic plunger.
- Double plunger sealing.
- All gaskets held in seal sleeves for precise centering and easy replacement.
- Suction and discharge valves are easily accessible via a divided valve casing.
Materials Used:
- Valve Casing: Cast Bronze, G-versions of special nickel-plated sphero-cast-iron.
- Plunger: Solid ceramic.
- Valves: High-Grade Stainless Steel.
- Sleeves: Nitrile with fabric reinforcing.
- Crankshaft: Drop-forged and case-hardened.
Installation: Even with the pumps' low-pulsation operation, a pressure accumulator may be necessary depending on the unit's construction and overall operating conditions. Flexible pressure lines can also achieve this effect. Cavitation must be avoided.
Special Versions
For specific applications, wetted parts can be manufactured from a selection of different high-grade steels or seawater-resistant bronze alloys. Separate cooling or rinsing chambers can be fitted for the plunger seals. Various valve constructions are also available depending on the medium to be pumped.
