System Startup Guidelines:
- Feed pressure should be increased gradually over a 30 – 60 second timeframe.
- Cross-flow velocity at the set operating point should be achieved gradually over 15 – 20 seconds.
- Permeate obtained from the first hour of operation should be discarded.
- Maximum pressure drop across an entire pressure vessel (housing) is 30 psi / 2.1 bar.
- Avoid static permeate-side backpressure at all times.
General Cautions:
- The presence of free chlorine, chloramines, and other oxidizing agents will cause premature membrane failure. Remove all oxidizing agents by pretreatment.
- Keep elements moist at all times after initial wetting.
- To prevent biological growth during prolonged system shutdowns, immerse membrane elements in a preservative solution. Rinse out the preservative before use.
- The warranty will be null and void if operating limits and guidelines are not strictly followed, or due to the effects of incompatible chemicals and lubricants on elements.
- These membranes may be subject to drinking water application restrictions in some countries; verify application status before use and sale.
- Use of this product does not guarantee the removal of cysts and pathogens from water; effective reduction depends on complete system design, operation, and maintenance.
