Summary

Product Identification

The FilmTec™ BW30XHR PRO-400/34 is an Extra High Rejection Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis Membrane Element.

Key Features:

  • Offers exceptional permeate quality
  • Delivers excellent silica, boron, nitrate, TOC, and ammonium rejection
  • Excellent durability resulting in stable, long-term performance
  • Enhanced fouling protection thanks to 34 mil feed spacer

Key Applications:

  • Demineralization for industrial applications, such as: Power Generation, Steel & Metal, Chemical & Petrochemical
  • Municipal water purification
  • Applications requiring stringent permeate quality

Performance

  • Membrane Type: Polyamide Thin-Film Composite
  • Active Area: 400 ft² (37 m²)
  • Feed Spacer Thickness: 34-LDP mil
  • Permeate Flow Rate: 11,500 gpd (43.5 m³/d)
  • Stabilized Salt Rejection: 99.8%
  • Minimum Salt Rejection: 99.6%

Note: Permeate flow and salt rejection are based on standard conditions: 2,000 ppm NaCl, 225 psi (15.5 bar), 77°F (25°C), pH 8, and 15% recovery. Flow rates for individual elements may vary but will be no more than 15% below the value shown.

Operating Limits

  • Maximum Operating Temperature: 113°F (45°C) (Note: Maximum temperature for continuous operation above pH 10 is 95°F (35°C))
  • Maximum Operating Pressure: 600 psig (41 bar)
  • Maximum Pressure Drop:
    • Per Element: 15 psig (1.0 bar)
    • Per Pressure Vessel (Minimum 4 Elements): 50 psig (3.5 bar)
  • pH Range:
    • Continuous Operation: 2 - 11
    • Short-Term Cleaning (30 min.): 1 - 13

Feed Water

  • Maximum Feed Flow: 75 gpm (17 m³/hr)
  • Maximum Feed Silt Density Index: SDI 5
  • Free Chlorine Tolerance: < 0.1 ppm (Note: Oxidation damage is not covered under warranty; removal of residual free chlorine by pretreatment is recommended.)

Mechanical / Hydraulic

Element Dimensions:

  • A: 40.0 inches (1,016 mm)
  • B (ID): 1.125 inches (29 mm)
  • C: 7.9 inches (201 mm)

General Information

  • Keep elements moist at all times after initial wetting.
  • If operating limits and guidelines are not strictly followed, the warranty will be null and void.
  • To prevent biological growth during prolonged system shutdowns, elements should be immersed in a preservative solution.
  • The customer is fully responsible for the effects of incompatible chemicals and lubricants on elements.
  • Avoid static permeate-side backpressure at all times.
  • Permeate obtained from the first hour of operation should be discarded.
  • The use of this product does not guarantee the removal of cysts and pathogens from water; effective reduction depends on complete system design, operation, and maintenance.

Regulatory Note

This product may be subject to drinking water application restrictions in some countries; please check the application status before use and sale.
