Summary

Product Identification

iLEC™ Technology is an interlocking end-cap system for FilmTec™ RO/NF elements, designed to achieve high-quality water at the lowest total cost. This technology removes the need for an interconnector between membrane elements.

Key Benefits of iLEC™ Technology

  • Easier Installation and Maintenance:
    • Provides immediate feedback on seal tightness.
    • Does not require lubricants, which helps preserve permeate quality.
    • Reduces the number of spare parts needed, lowering maintenance costs.
    • Allows for easy loading and unloading, potentially with optional tools.
  • Trouble-Free Operation:
    • Helps maintain the desired permeate water quality by eliminating the risk of damaged o-rings, which can occur during installation or routine maintenance in standard systems.
    • Facilitates easier permeate conductivity probing.
  • Energy Savings:
    • Reduces energy consumption by eliminating interconnectors, which create resistance to water flow in traditional systems.

Mechanical / Hydraulic

The iLEC™ system incorporates snap features and alignment markings for membrane element connection. In contrast, standard systems rely on interconnectors and interconnector o-rings.

Savings Example: For a brackish water plant producing 19,000 m³/d with 1,050 membrane elements installed across 150 vessels, implementing iLEC™ Technology would save:

  • 900 interconnectors, which would otherwise increase energy consumption.
  • 1,800 interconnector o-rings, which are prone to frequent movement and potential leaks.

The reduction in interconnectors contributes to energy savings by lowering resistance to water flow. This benefit applies to both Seawater (SW) and Brackish Water (BW) applications, based on a configuration of 8 elements per pressure vessel.
