Summary
Product identification
The FilmTec™SOAR 5000i Element is a high rejection, brackish water reverse osmosis (RO) element designed for DesaliTec™CCRO Systems. It features an advanced element design based on a cleanable membrane chemistry.
It is suitable for a wide range of applications, including municipal water and wastewater, bottled water, and boiler feed water.
Key advantages include:
- Combines the versatility of the patented DesaliTec™CCRO process with DuPont’s FilmTec™membrane innovation for enhanced reliability.
- Durable membrane with a cleaning tolerance over a wide pH range (pH 1-13) for consistent, long-lasting life.
- iLEC™interlocking end caps, designed to reduce system operating costs and the risk of o-ring leaks.
Product water
The following typical properties are based on standard test conditions: 2,000 ppm NaCl, 240 psi (16.5 bar), 77°F (25°C), pH 8, and 20% recovery. Stabilized salt rejection is generally achieved within 24-48 hours of continuous use.
- Active Area: 400 ft² (37 m²)
- Permeate Flow Rate: 12,000 gpd (44 m³/d)
- Minimum Salt Rejection: 99.4%
- Stabilized Salt Rejection: 99.7%
Operating limits
- Membrane Type: Polyamide Thin-Film Composite
- Maximum Operating Temperature: 113 °F (45 °C)
- Maximum Operating Pressure: 600 psig (41 bar)
- Maximum Element Pressure Drop: 15 psig (1.0 bar)
- pH Range (Continuous Operation): 2 - 11 (Maximum temperature for continuous operation above pH 10 is 95 °F (35 °C))

General Information
- Elements must be kept moist at all times after initial wetting.
- Operating limits and guidelines must be strictly followed to maintain warranty validity.
- For prolonged system shutdowns, elements should be immersed in a preservative solution to prevent biological growth.
- The customer is responsible for effects of incompatible chemicals and lubricants on elements.
- Static permeate-side backpressure should be avoided at all times.
- Permeate obtained from the first hour of operation should be discarded.
- The use of this product alone does not guarantee the removal of cysts and pathogens; effective reduction depends on complete system design, operation, and maintenance.
- This product may be subject to drinking water application restrictions in some countries.
